Beans in Maine

So this past weekend was pretty kick ass even with all the "bumps". Beans came to Maine!! I must admit that I didn't think she'd actually come, but friday morning rolled around at she was at South Station. I drove down there by myself. Not a bad drive. I was rocking out pretty had to sexy bitch, and I got some pretty funny looks from the guy driving next to me....

I was worried that things would be awkward, but they weren't! Beans and James got along great. Thats so important to me. I've already had the boyfriend that doesn't like any of my friends, and it sucks! She came to the game that night, and had a lot of fun. We did the MJ tribute. After we went out to 51 warf. I was a little confused as to why someone from nyc would want to go to a club in Maine, but what ever we had a blast. The next morning we went to heather's baby shower. it was so nice to have the three of us back together, but really weird at the same time. Heather is due any time now. It so weird that people the same age as me are married and starting families. I'm not ready for anything even close to that.... the rest of the weekend kind of sucked thanks to running out of gas, the gps that got us lost a million times, the woman who rolled her suv into my car and food poisoning but hey I got to see Beans....

2010: A new year

So New Years quickly came and went, and with it came my resolution: to do a better job documenting my life. I have been blessed with some amazing opportunities and I really want to remember them. So I've decided to keep a blog, of the good and maybe some of the not so good (who knows it might make for some great stories later!).

Recap of 2009....

• I turned 21
• entered my second and third semesters at UNE
• played "the woman who loved to make vagina's happy" in the vagina monologues, found out a lot about myself, and women as a whole
• realized that I missed dance
• Went through a seriously rocky period with James
• decided to navigate the rocky period and came out on the other side even closer
• Found out who my real friends are
• moved into my first apartment with James and spent my first summer away from home
• fell in love with the landlord's ugly little snortface dog. want one of my own some day
• Helped my brother graduate from high school
• took summer classes
• decided to audition for the Maine Red Claws dance team, made it!
• Met Jenny, who would quickly become a best friend
• Met 15 other girls, who would quickly become like sisters.
• ran 4 miles straight, 3 times a week for 3 months
• Sea Dogs happened - realized I need to step up my game
• Spent time with my family in Harpswell, they liked James!
• went Kayaking
• moved into the upstairs apartment with James and Alicia
• got a makeover
• appeared in a swimsuit calendar - I'm miss February
• Took Organic Chemistry and Genetics in the same semester, and lived to tell
• did an internship at NSMC - learned way more than I thought I would
• Invited James's family to Salem for a spooky Halloween weekend.
• decided to apply to ortho tech school after UNE instead of going right into PA school
• Had Thanksgiving with James's family
• began dancing at home games for the MRC - what an adrenaline rush
• got swine flu, survived.
• was hit by a drunk driver
• Had Christmas #1 at Jenny's house - Mondavi wine is delicious
• James came for Christmas #2 at my house. I gave him a home microbrewery, he gave me a diamond necklace.
• Almost cried when I realized how much tyler has grown up.
• Hosted Christmas #3 at my apartment for James's family. We cooked spaghetti and turkey meatballs all by ourselves.
• Had 4 MRC games in a week, talk about endurance
• tried fish, and liked it
• went to my first ladies night
• spent new years with MRC girls and James

2009 was busy, and filled with ups and downs. I learned a lot. Hopefully 2010 will be even better.

In 2010 so far....

• My grandparents found an apartment!
• James and I got into a car accident, not so good, but he might be getting a new car!
• Elvis + LRC = marathon
• First time entertaining James's parent at my apartment by my self!
